Collaborative has partnered with the Georgia Tech Foundation to revitalize the historic Biltmore in Midtown, transforming it into a premier innovation center and startup hub. Collaborative will oversee the building’s renovation and work with Georgia Tech to position it as the city’s newest destination for innovation and research.

Spearheaded by Mikey DiCenso, Innovation Ecosystem Relationship Manager at Collaborative Real Estate, the event series brings together some of the region’s top corporate innovation centers to collaborate, learn, and grow stronger together.

Collaborative Real Estate was recently recognized for their innovative tenant engagement platforms, data-driven programs, incredible partnership-building, and more via the CRE Insight Journal Awards program, which recognizes excellence in the real estate industry.

On behalf of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL), Collaborative Real Estate’s Director of Engineering, Joe Sorbet, was invited to present during the 2022 I2SL Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Over the course of three days, more than 200 research park and innovation district leaders from around the world joined together in Toronto, Canada to engage in high-impact knowledge sharing, participate in interactive sessions, and discuss trending and emerging ideas at AURP’s 2022 International Conference. And none other than Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Collaborative Real Estate, David Tyndall, was requested to deliver the closing remarks.

The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), Georgia’s (and the country’s oldest!) technology business incubator, was involved in a series of events across metro Atlanta throughout the summer, which invited local entrepreneurs to experience different innovation centers and districts throughout the community. 

In early June, Collaborative Real Estate joined a Power Meal hosted by Tech Square ATL (TSQATL) Social Club with Joulea, TCPoly, and Entek to discuss eco-conscious efforts and the future of sustainability for commercial facilities.

Collaborative Real Estate and The University Financing Foundation, Inc. (TUFF) joined forces once again to host evening receptions for two University-Industry Demonstration Partnership (UIDP) events that took place in Tech Square at the end of March.

Inefficiencies are, unavoidably, built into buildings. While some inefficiencies are now mitigated by modern energy and water use codes, odds are, if a building is older (15+ years), some inefficiencies are still present. So, how does one resolve such issues?

Pittsburgh leaders joined Collaborative Real Estate, The University Financing Foundation, Inc. (TUFF), and UIDP for a workshop on November 4, 2021, focused on harnessing the recent growth of the Pittsburgh innovation ecosystem to catalyze future expansion of the region.

While the term “collaboration” seems to refer to some level of generality around the action of humans working together to produce or create something, it does stand to reason that it can come in many forms, or “flavors.”

Indeed, it’s important to reflect on the peculiar challenges and opportunities for the innovation places where we all work, especially in these unpredictable times. Still, the question arises: How then may we lead?
